Boating Enforcement Supervisor

Alan Nelson currently serves as Supervisor of the Boating Safety Division. He began his career with the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office in 1987 after 13 years Active Duty in the United States Coast Guard. He has worked as a Dispatcher, Detention Officer, Boating Safety Officer, Patrol Officer and Patrol Sergeant before being assigned as the Supervisor of the Boating Safety Division. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2007, Lt. Nelson has over 37 years of Maritime Law Enforcement experience through the US Coast Guard and the Sheriff’s Office. He retired from the Coast Guard Reserve in 2002 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer with 28 years of Active and Reserve service. Lt. Nelson is married with 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren.
 
 
  
Lieutenant William Poindexter   Lieutenant William Poindexter
Patrol Division Supervisor  
 
William Poindexter has over 20 years as an Arizona Certified Peace Officer. He started his career as a Patrol Deputy working primarily in the Parker (District 1) and Ehrenberg (District 2) areas. As a Patrol Deputy he was assigned as a County DUI Deputy and was a member of the La Paz County S.R.T. (SWAT). He was promoted to detective in 2000 and assigned to the La Paz County Narcotic Task Force. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2003 and remained in the Task Force as the supervisor. He supervised the daily operations and assisted with the HIDTA and ACJC grants. In 2008 he was assigned to Patrol as a Road Sergeant and became Team Leader on SRT. In 2010 he was put in charge of the SRT as the Team Commander. In 2013 he was promoted to Patrol Lieutenant. He is married and lives in the Parker area.

Assistant Detention Commander

Richard Epps is assigned as the Assistant Jail Commander for the La Paz County Adult Detention Facility. He began his law enforcement career in 1990, after 10 years as a firefighter/medic. Lt. Epps has served La Paz County as a Dispatcher, Detention Officer, Patrol Officer, Boating Safety Officer and Patrol Sergeant prior to his appointment as Lieutenant. He is married with 5 children.


Claudia Seechoma   Claudia Seechoma  
Administrative Supervisor 

Claudia Seechoma has been employed with the La Paz County Sheriff's Office for over 20 years. She has served as Executive Secretary/Administrative Supervisor under 5 Sheriffs, and oversees all Department administrative functions, including the Warrants Division, Accounts Payable, Department Records and Sex Offender Registration.
